Balwant Moreshwar Purandare

Balwant Moreshwar Purandare (29 July 1922 – 15 November 2021), popularly known as Babasaheb Purandare, was an Indian writer, historian and theatre personality. He was awarded with Padma Vibhushan in 2019. He wrote about Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the 17th-century founder of the Maratha Empire.[1] He also wrote about Shiv Sena along with Balasaheb Thackeray.[2] Purandare was born in Saswad, Poona, British India.

Purandare died on 15 November 2021 at a hospital in Pune, Maharashtra from pneumonia-related problems. He was 99 years old.[3][4]
