War
[change | change source]First Mangyshlak
[change | change source]In 1133, Khwarazmshah Atsiz launched a military campaign from the city of Jand into the Kipchak-dominated steppe of Desht-i Kipchak. This disunity made the Kipchaks more susceptible to external influences, including the spread of Islam and the political maneuvers of neighboring powers.[1]
Second Mangyshlak and Capture of Jand
[change | change source]Jand and Mangystau, which served as important winter quarters for the Kipchaks, launched a great expedition.[2] The aim of this expedition was to suppress the unrest in the Mangystau Region located east of the Caspian Sea and to take control of the Turkmen tribes in the region. As a result of the expedition, order was established in the region and the Turkmen tribes were removed from the region.[3]
