Becky (slang)

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term Becky is a negative slang term for a young white woman. It is also associated with white women who love Ugg boots and Starbucks. These women don't know anything about racial issues or may be racist against people of different races.[1] The term Karen is similar but has an association with older women.[2]

Origin[change | change source]

The term Becky may come from the protagonist Becky Sharp from the 1848 novel Vanity Fair and its connected movie.[3]
