Belmiro Mendes de Azevedo (17 February 1938 – 29 November 2017) was a Portuguese entrepreneur. He was born in Tuias, Marco de Canaveses.

Azevedo was ranked by Forbes as the 605th richest person in the world (2008), as well as the 2nd richest in Portugal, with an estimated wealth of US$ 2 billion.[1] He owned a controlling stake in Sonae SGPS. His was one of the largest business groups in Portugal, which also operates in Spain, Greece, Germany, Italy, Turkey and Brazil.

Azevedo died in the CUF Hospital in Porto on 29 November 2017 at the age of 79.[2]
