Betty Williams (nobel laureate)

Betty Williams (born as Elisabeth Smyth, 22 May 1943) is a peace activist. She was born in Belfast. She started the organization "Community of Peace People", who worked toward getting peace in Northern Ireland. In 1976, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, together with Mairead Corrigan, wh also co-founded the organization.
