A billionaire is a person who has a net worth of at least one billion units of currency. This is usually used for major currencies with large values, like Pound Sterlings £, American dollars $, or Euros €. If a person has a billion units of a currency with little value, they are not considered a billionaire because the currency is easier to get by trading in a higher value currency.

Every year, the American business magazine Forbes releases a list of billionaires called The World's Billionaires on the internet and in paper.
