Black Adam

Teth-Adam, better known as Black Adam, is a fictional supervillain and sometimes antihero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. He was created by Otto Binder and C. C. Beck, the character is the archenemy of the superhero Captain Marvel, also known as Shazam (alongside Doctor Sivana and Mister Mind) and rival to both Superman and Hawkman.

Though his origins vary between versions, in all that he is depicted as the former champion of the Wizard, who was corrupted by his power, resulting in him becoming a villain and an adversary towards the Marvel Family. In recent years, however, he has frequently been depicted as a more neutral or anti-villainous character.

In 2009, Black Adam was ranked as IGN's 16th Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time.[1]

Actor Dwayne Johnson plays the character in the DC Extended Universe spin-off movie Black Adam (2022).[2]
