Book of Sirach

The Book of Sirach is a book of the Bible. It is part of the Catholic and Orthodox biblical canon. It was put forward by the Council of Carthage in 397. It was confirmed by Catholic leaders at the Council of Trent in the 16th century. It was written roughly in the year 180 BC in Jerusalem by a Jew named Ben Sira. Its main theme is that of wisdom.
