Boudewijn Bernard Leopold Paans (31 October 1943 – 1 July 2021) was a Dutch writer and journalist.[1]

He was editor of the VPRO Gids from 1976 to 2004.[1] He became Dutch Broadcaster of the Year, in 1991.

Paans was a regular columnist for de Volkskrant supplement Het Vervolg from 1984 to 1991. Later, he also wrote columns for Amersfoortse Courant, Utrechts Nieuwsblad and Soester Courant.

In addition to his work as editor-in-chief and columnist, Paans wrote radio dramas based on books. Examples of this includethe books by Janwillem van de Wetering and Mien van 't Sant.

Paans married to Anna who worked for the Gooi- en Eemlander and Amersfoortse Courant. Their son was journalist Arjan Paans (1969-2023).[2] Paans died in Laren on 1 July 2021, aged 77.[3]
