Brassaï

Brassai was a surrealist photographer. He was born on 9 September 1899 in what is now known as Romania. He died on 8 July 1984 in his home on the French Riviera near Nice.

Brassaï trained as an artist. He settled in Paris in 1924. There he worked as a sculptor, painter, and journalist. He associated with such artists as Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí, and the writer Henry Miller.
