Brave is a free and open-source web browser made by Brave Software, Inc. based on the Chromium web browser, which is the browser Google Chrome is also based on.[2]

The web browser blocks ads and website trackers. Brave has a get paid to surf business model, where users get small amounts of a cryptocurrency called the Basic Attention Token (BAT) for seeing ads inside the browser, which they can give to their favorite authors.[3]

As of 2025, Brave has been created for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. It includes 5 search engines, including DuckDuckGo as the main.
