Brian Stokes Mitchell (born October 31, 1957) is an American actor and singer. He has been one of the main leading men of the Broadway theatre since the 1990s. He won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical in 2000 for his performance in Kiss Me, Kate. On screen, his roles include Roots: The Next Generations, The Prince of Egypt and Mr. Robot.

Mitchell was born in Seattle, Washington. He has been married actress Allyson Tucker since 1994. The couple have a son.

On April 1, 2020, during the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic, Mitchell made it clear that he had tested positive for COVID-19.[1]
