"Bright Lights" is the third single from Matchbox Twenty's third album, More Than You Think You Are. The song proved to be a moderate hit for the band. It peaked at 23 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is written by lead singer Rob Thomas. It is about a girl who leaves her hometown looking for fame. Throughout the song, he lets the girl know she can come home if things don't work out.
