Bureau of Meteorology
The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM or BoM) is a part of the Australian Government. It gives weather forecasts and weather services to Australia and nearby countries. It started in 1906 by the Meteorology Act 1906.[1] Before that, each state had its own weather service.[2][3] On 1 January 1908, the states gave their weather recording work to the Bureau of Meteorology.[4][5]
