The calligraphic carpets are the hand-knotted or hand-tufted carpets which are based on Islamic written or Quranic verses. Similar to other rugs, they are made on traditional loom but due to religious value they require extra care. They are produced worldwide but mainly in Pakistan. They are typically crafted in high knot density and with organic material including Wool and Silk which makes this carpet expensive.[1]
World record

In 2013, a world record of largest calligraphic carpets made in Pakistan which are based on calligraphies of artist Sadequain. The carpets are currently hanging in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Karachi.[2]
