Carole Landis (born Frances Lillian Mary Ridste; January 1, 1919 – July 5, 1948) was an American actress born in Fairchild, Wisconsin. She acted mostly in movies. She also conducted USO tours during World War II.[1] Her most notable movies included One Million B.C. (1940), Turnabout (1940), I Wake Up Screaming (1941), Manila Calling (1942), and Four Jills in a Jeep (1944). Landis died by suicide on July 5, 1948 from an overdose of Seconal.[2] She was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetary in Glendale, California on July 10, 1948.[3][4]
