Cary Huang and Michael Huang (born March 18, 1997) are American twin brothers and animators who created the internet series called Battle for Dream Island. They also created the educational website named The Scale of the Universe.[1]
Early life and education
[change | change source]The duo were born on March 18, 1997 in Moraga, California.[1] They began using the online software Adobe Flash, which got Cary an award in 5th grade.[2] They went to Campolindo High School and graduated in June 2015.[3] The duos then went to collage; Cary went to Stanford University and received a Bachelor of Science in 2020,[4] while Michael went to University of California, Berkeley and studied film.[5]
Online projects
[change | change source]The twins created their website called htwins.net in 2005. They hosted multiple browser games made out of Flash.[6] One of them was called The Scale of the Universe, which was an interactive website released in 2010. They released a sequel called The Scale of the Universe 2 in 2012.[7]
In 2008, the twins made their YouTube channel Jacknjellify and began posting videos. In 2010, they created Battle for Dream Island, an animated show on YouTube.[8]
In 2014, Cary made another YouTube channel named ABACABA, which covered various topics such as the COVID-19.[9]
Impact
[change | change source]The twins has made so much of an impact on their show that they created a new genre called "object shows".[10]
Cary Huang got an asteroid named after him named 10003 Caryhuang.[11]
