Category:Formal sciences

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A formal science is a type of science that studies abstract ideas using rules and logic, often called an axiomatic system. This means it focuses on ideas that follow clear rules, rather than things you can touch or see in the real world. It is important to know that a formal science is different from a field that is officially called a “science.” For example, even though chemistry and physics are real sciences, they are hard sciences because they study the physical world. Engineering is an applied science because it uses science to build or make things. Formal sciences, like mathematics or logic, do not study the real world directly, they study ideas and structures that help us understand the world in a clear, logical way.
