I see there is an existing Category:Laws. It is not clear to me if this is a simplified way of saying legislation? Thanks for your thoughts. Ottawahitech (talk) 22:34, 18 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I do believe that laws was intended as a simplified wording of legislation. I am of the opinion it should probably be switched back. -Djsasso (talk) 10:58, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Djsasso: I merged this into Category:Legislation. There were two separate categories of the same thing, but if you think they can all be here instead for simplicity then that makes sense. --IWI (talk) 11:19, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah don't get me wrong. I totally understood why you did what you did, the duplicate probably shouldn't have been created originally, especially since Ottawahitech apparently knew that a Category:Laws existed. -Djsasso (talk) 11:21, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(change conflict) It's worth noting that the enwiki equivalent appears to be en:Category:Statutory law. --IWI (talk) 11:22, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you think they could all be moved to Category:Laws or a new Category:Statutory law, then I would not be opposed to that. Legislation is a complex word compared to "law". --IWI (talk) 11:27, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah you have me thinking now about the best way to handle it. Because perhaps laws isn't specific enough but then I wonder about the word statutory. -Djsasso (talk) 11:31, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
