Chamarajanagar

Chamarajanagar is a district in the southern part of the Indian state of Karnataka.[1] It is named after the famous king Chamaraja Wodeyar of Mysore. It shares its borders with the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The district has many hills, forests and rivers. The main town and administrative center of the district is also called Chamarajanagar.

Population and People

Many people live in this district, including different communities and tribes. [2] [3] Agriculture is the main job for many people here.

Farming is important in Chamarajanagar. Farmers grow crops like ragi, sugarcane and coconut. The district is also known for its silk production.

Wildlife and Nature

Chamarajanagar is famous for its natural beauty and wildlife. It has many forests and wildlife sanctuaries. The Bandipur National Park is partly located in this district and is home to elephants, tigers and many other animals.[4]

The people of Chamarajanagar celebrate many festivals and traditions. Kannada is the main language spoken here.
