Charles Brooks

Charles Brooks was the first person to be executed by lethal injection in the United States. He was executed by lethal injection by Texas on December 7, 1982.

Although Oklahoma was the first State to legislate execution by lethal injection, the method was not administered until 1990. Among the first ten men executed by lethal injection in the U.S., all were done by Texas, three of whom had the first name of Charles.
