Chicken and waffles is a dish that has both chicken and waffles. It is popular in the United States, where it is served in many restaurants.[1] There are two types of chicken and waffles dishes: the soul food version and the Pennsylvania Dutch version.

The best-known version is the soul food version, which uses fried chicken. It uses a waffle that would be served during breakfast. It comes with condiments such as butter and syrup. It is very popular in Baltimore, Maryland.[1]

Pennsylvania Dutch version[change | change source]

The Pennsylvania Dutch version has a plain waffle with pulled, stewed chicken on top. It is served with gravy. It is often found in the Northeastern United States.
