Chief information officer

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Chief Information Officer (CIO for short) is the most senior job title given to the person in a company responsible for IT and computer systems within the business.[1]

For example, this might include setting the IT strategy, managing IT budgets and looking after all technology used by the company. The role is a leadership position, meaning that the CIO will also often play a role in decisions that affect the whole company and its strategy.
