Chinese diaspora

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Chinese diaspora or Overseas Chinese are a diaspora community of Han Chinese living overseas. They live outside of Greater China (mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau). In 2011, there are over 40 million Overseas Chinese in many different countries. Because of this, there are Chinatowns in big cities around the world. It is one of the biggest diasporas, likely due to the large population of Greater China. They mostly live in countries like Thailand, Malaysia, the United States, Indonesia, Singapore, Myanmar/Burma, Canada, Australia, the Philippines, South Korea, and Japan.
