Christopher Owen Ayres (May 16, 1965 – October 18, 2021) was an American actor, director and scriptwriter.[2] He was known for his voice roles on anime shows. He voiced Frieza from Dragon Ball Z Kai, Kei Kurono from Gantz, Prince Soma from Black Butler, and Shingen Takeda from the Sengoku Basara series.

Ayres died on October 18, 2021 from problems caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in Houston, Texas at the age of 56.[3][4]
