Cloncurry, Queensland
Cloncurry is a small town in north-west Queensland, Australia.[1][2] It is located in the Shire of Cloncurry, about 770 kilometers west of Townsville and 120 kilometers east of Mount Isa.

History
[change | change source]Cloncurry was established in the 1870s after the discovery of copper and gold in the area. It became an important mining town. The town is also known as the place where the Royal Flying Doctor Service first began in 1928.
Geography
[change | change source]Cloncurry is in a dry and hot part of Queensland, with open landscapes and low hills. The Cloncurry River runs near the town. It is located in the Outback, with long distances between towns.
