Columbus, Mississippi

Columbus is a city in Lowndes County Mississippi. It is also the county seat of Lowndes County.[1] The population was 23,640 at the 2010 census.[2] The explorer Hernando de Soto. spent the winter of 1540–41 with the Chicasaw tribe camped near what is now the city of Columbus.[3]
