Costa Mesa is a city in Orange County, California. This place became a city in 1953. It was a farming community with 16,840 people. It has become a suburban and edge city with an economy based on retail, commerce, and manufacturing. The population was 111,918 at the 2020 United States Census.[1]

Costa Mesa has a semi-arid climate (Köppen climate classification BSh) with warm temperatures year round. Rain falls mostly in the winter. There is almost no rain during the summer. Morning low clouds and fog are common because it is by the coast.

The highest recorded temperature since 1989 in Costa Mesa was 45°C (113°F) in June 2016 and the lowest was -1°C (30°F) in December 1990 and January 2007.[2]
