Cruel Intentions is a 1998 American romantic teen drama movie set in New York City. It is about seduction, manipulation and lies.

Sarah Michelle Gellar plays Kathryn Merteuil, Ryan Phillippe plays her stepbrother Sebastian Valmont, Reese Witherspoon plays Annette Hargrove, Selma Blair plays Cecile Caldwell and Swoosie Kurtz plays Regina. Cruel Intentions got mixed reviews while playing in theaters, though it made close to $76 million. The movie became a cult favorite in the years after its release.
