Cyprinus carpio

The common carp (Cyprinus carpio) is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish. It is also known as the Eurasian carp or just carp. You can find them in North America. In the USA, these cyprinids live in freshwater lakes.

Other names for common carp are freshwater carp, lake carp, Carpio lakefish, common cyprinus, common cyprinid, river carp, or the North American freshwater carp.
