The Deutscher Fußball-Club Prag (DFC) was a Jewish-German football club from the Bohemian capital of Prague. He was founded in 1896 and dissolved in 1939. The club was re-established in June 2016. At the beginning of the 20th century, the club was among the best football teams in Europe. DFC played in the final of the first German football championship against VfB Leipzig on 31 May 1903. This made them the first runners-up in German football.

DFC Prague was founded on 25 May 1896 by German nationalist Jews from the recently established football section of the Deutschen Eis- und Ruder-Clubs Regatta Prag (German Ice and Rowing Club Regatta Prague). The football club for the non-Jewish German population became DFC Germania Prag, founded in 1899.

Although the club was based in Austria-Hungary, it was allowed to participate in the German football championship. The German Football Association (DFB) was trying to attract more members at the time, so it permitted German clubs from Austria-Hungary to participate in cup competitions. DFC was one of the founding clubs of the DFB.

The first German championship took place on 31 May 1903 in Altona (now Hamburg) in the final between VfB Leipzig and DFC Prague. Leipzig won 7:2 . Due to the founding of FIFA in 1904 and the principle of only being allowed to participate in championships of the country of residence, DFC Prague switched to the Austrian Football Association.

Following Henlein's rise to power, the club, its officials, and players, despite their predominantly Jewish heritage, were urged to join Henlein's movement. Because players and officials refused the club was banned as "Jewish club" after the German troops marched into Prague (March 1939) . The club dissolved itself.

On 9 June 2016, a new club named DFC Prague was registered in Prague. According to its statutes, the club sees itself as continuing the tradition of its famous predecessor. The club participates in Czech league playing with its youth teams. [1]
