Daniel Joseph Boorstin (October 1, 1914 – February 28, 2004) was an American historian. He worked at the University of Chicago. He was appointed the twelfth Librarian of the United States Congress in 1975. He served until 1987. He was helped create the Center for the Book at the Library of Congress.[1][2]
Boorstin died on February 28, 2004 at a hospital in Washington, D.C. from pneumonia at the age of 89.[3]
