David James Ball (3 May 1959 – 22 October 2025) was a British producer and electronic musician. He was best known for being a member of the synth-pop duo Soft Cell, alongside vocalist Marc Almond. He also co-founded The Grid.
Ball died in his sleep at his home in London, England on 22 October 2025 at the age of 66.[1]
