David Lau

David Baruch Lau, Hebrew: דוד ברוך לאו , (born January 13, 1966 in Tel Aviv) is an Israeli Orthodox rabbi.

He has been Chief Rabbi of Israel on behalf of the Ashkenazi Jews since August 14, 2013, succeeding Yona Metzger.

His father Yisrael Meir Lau had the same position from 1993 to 2003.

His Sephardic counterpart is Yitzhak Yosef.
