David John McKee[1] (2 January 1935 – 6 April 2022) was a British writer and illustrator. His works were about children's books and animations. He was the United Kingdom's nominee for the international Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2006.

McKee died on 6 April 2022 after a short illness, aged 87.[2]
