David Pearson

David Gene Pearson (December 22, 1934 – November 12, 2018) was an American stock car racer. He was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He began his NASCAR career in 1960 and won the 1960 NASCAR Rookie of the Year award.[1]

Pearson won three championships (1966, 1968, and 1969) in NASCAR's Grand National Series (now Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series). In 2011, he was added to the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

Pearson died on November 12, 2018 in Spartanburg at the age of 83.[2]
