David Prowse, MBE (born 1 July 1935) is an English former bodybuilder, weightlifter, and movie, television, stage, and voice actor who is known for playing the role of Darth Vader in four Star Wars movies.

Prowse was born in Bristol, England.[1] He studied at Bristol Grammar School. He has been married to Norma Prowse since 1963. He said in 2009 that he has prostate cancer; it has since gone into remission. In November 2014, Prowse revealed that he has dementia.[2]
