David Walter (politician)
David Ernest Walter QSO JP (25 November 1939 – 5 September 2020) was a New Zealand politician and journalist. He was the first mayor of Stratford District Council between 1989 to 1998. He also was chairman of both of the Taranaki Regional Council between 2001 to 2007 and the Stratford County Council from 1983 to 1989.
Walter died of leukaemia, aged 80, on 5 September 2020 in Stratford.[1]
