David Weiss Halivni

David Weiss Halivni (Hebrew: דוד וייס הלבני) (27 September 1927 – 29 June 2022) was a Czechoslovakian-born American-Israeli rabbi and scholar. His works focused on Jewish Sciences. He was a Professor of Talmud.[1] He was the Reish Metivta of the Union for Traditional Judaism's rabbinical school. Halivni was born in Kobyletska Poliana, Czechoslovakia.

In 1993, he became a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In 2006, he was honored with the Israel Prize.

Halivni died in Jerusalem, Israel on 29 June 2022, aged 94.[2]
