Deborah Ann Harry (born Angela Trimble; July 1, 1945) is an American singer-songwriter, actress and philanthropist. She is best known as the lead singer of the band Blondie. Four of her songs with the band reached No. 1 on the US charts between 1979 and 1981.[2] Harry released her first solo studio album, KooKoo, in 1981.
As an actress, she had roles in Union City (1980) and in David Cronenberg's body horror movie Videodrome (1983). She released her second solo studio album, 1986's Rockbird. She was in John Waters's dance movie Hairspray (1988).
She released two more solo albums between 1988 and 1993. She was later in John Carpenter's horror movie Body Bags (1993), and in the drama Heavy (1995).
Harry is openly bisexual.[3] In her 2019 memoir, Harry said she was raped in the 1970s.[4] She also said that serial killer Ted Bundy tried to get her in his car.[5]
