Deng Yu (2[1]–58 AD[2]) was a statesman and military commander in Eastern Han dynasty. He contributed to the unification of China. In 57 AD, Deng became Grand Tutor. He held this title until his death.

  1. Deng Yu's biography in Book of the Later Han indicated that he was 57 (by East Asian reckoning) when be died. Thus by calculation, his birth year should be 2 AD.
