Dénia (Valencian: [ˈdenia]; Spanish: Denia [ˈdenja]), is a historical coastal city in the province of Alicante, Spain. It is on the Costa Blanca halfway between Alicante and Valencia. It is the capital and judicial seat of the comarca of Marina Alta. As of 2014, 41,672 people live there.[1]

Dénia has a Mediterranean climate (Köppen Csa), with mild and short winters and hot and long summers. The average temperature of the coldest month (January) is 12.3 °C (54.1 °F), while the average temperature of the hottest month (August) is 26.8 °C (80.2 °F). The city enjoys around 3,000 sunshine hours per year.

The highest temperature ever recorded in Denia was 42°C (108°F) and the lowest was -4°C (24°F) on 5 December 2017.[2]
