Deputy Lieutenant

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A deputy lieutenant (post nominals DL) is a crown appointment of the United Kingdom. This is one of a few deputies to the Lord-lieutenant of a given lieutenancy area (e.g. an English ceremonial county).

Deputy lieutenants will receive their title from a government minister who's appointed by the British monarch.[1]
