Diana is a female given name. It has ranked among the top 200 female names in the United States since the 1930s. Famous Dianas include the singer Diana Ross, Princess Diana and a Roman goddess who is named Diana. The name was also used for two hurricanes in the Atlantic in 1984 and 1990. The 1990 storm hit eastern Mexico. It caused more than 100 deaths. The name Diana was then retired.
