The name Diana is a female given name. It has ranked among the top 200 female names in the United States since the 1930s. Famous Dianas include the singer Diana Ross, Princess Diana and a Roman goddess who is named Diana. The name was also used for two hurricanes in the Atlantic in 1984 and 1990. The 1990 storm hit eastern Mexico; it caused more than 100 deaths. The name Diana was then retired.
