The Cars is the debut studio album by American new wave rock band The Cars. It was released on 6 June 1978 through Elektra Records. It went to number 5 in New Zealand, number 18 in the United States and number 29 in the United Kingdom. It was ranked #353 on the 500 best albums of all time by the Rolling Stone magazine in 2020.
