Donkey Kong Bananza is a game made by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch 2. The player plays as the main character Donkey Kong. The game features environments where the player can destroy the world around them using Donkey Kong. The game is the first 3D game in the Donkey Kong series since Donkey Kong 64.
After release and DLC
[change | change source]Downloadable content, also known as DLC (a part of the game that you have to pay extra money to play), was created for Donkey Kong Bananza. It features a DK Island map that is based on older games in the Donkey Kong series, and a game mode called Emerald Rush.[1]
On June 9, 2026, an event called “DK Challenge” was announced for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, which has challenges from Donkey Kong Bananza. A collaboration with Super Mario Bros. was also announced for Bananza’s DLC.[2]
