Drop tower

A drop tower or big drop is an amusement park ride consisting of a central tower with a gondola that wraps around the structure. Drop towers lift the gondolas up, release them in freefall before decelerating the descent. Usually the ride goes through several cycles of ascent, freefall and slowed descent.
