Elio is an 2025 upcoming American animated science fiction adventure movie. It is expected to be released on June 20, 2025.^[1] It was directed by Domee Shi and Madeline Sharafian, with help from Adrian Molina. It was produced by Mary Alice Drumm.^[2] America Ferrera was supposed to be in the movie but had to leave because of scheduling differences.^[3]

The movie follows an eleven-year-old boy named Elio Solis. He is sent into space after aliens believe he is the ambassador for Earth. He tries to work with the aliens and restore order in the galaxy.^[4]

Disney first revealed the movie during their D23 Expo event on September 9, 2022.^[5]
