Ellesmere (pronounced Ellz-meer) is a small market town in Shropshire, a county in England. The 2011 census recorded 3,835 people living there.

It is close to the border with Wales. The town centre is 17.6 miles (28.3 km) north of Shrewsbury, the county town. It is 8.6 miles (13.8 km) north-east of Oswestry and 12.2 miles (19.6 km) south-east of the Welsh town of Wrexham.
