Eva [ ee-vuh ][1] is a female given name. It is the Latin form of the English name Eve. The name Eve comes from a Hebrew name, meaning "life" or "the living one".[2] In the 1990 United States Census, the name Eva was very popular. Its popularity peaked one year earlier at #31. In 2006, the name ranked at #124. Eva is more common across England and Wales.
